SUBSTANCE: according to one version of the disclosed method, which adopts power saving measures based on the value of power available from a power supply. More specifically, the method involves identification of the present amount of energy available from a power supply. It is then determined whether the present amount of energy is associated with a low output state. If the present amount of energy is associated with a low output state, the method alters the configuration of energy consuming devices to switch a computer into a low output state.
EFFECT: minimisation of energy consumed by a computer along with allowing execution of vital tasks by programs installed on the computer.
