SUBSTANCE: device has an interface unit connected to a peripheral device, capable of loading a storage medium, a first processing unit which switches the storage medium inserted into the peripheral device into a non-operating state, a connection detection unit for detecting that the peripheral device is connected to the interface unit, a determination unit for determining whether the storage medium switched into non-operating state by the first processing unit is inserted into the peripheral device detected by the connection detection unit, and a control unit configured to control the first processing unit in order to switch the storage medium into a non-operating state according to the determination unit determining that the storage medium which has been switched by the first processing unit into a non-operating state is inserted into the peripheral device.
