FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: method of encoding and decoding data involves applying a matrix code onto an object using luminescent dye, and decoding is performed by reading information using an optoelectronic device with decryption thereof according to a predetermined algorithm. Data are applied using at least three different luminescent dyes, which significantly differ from each other on colour, intensity and lifetime of luminescence. Information decoding involves illumination of the matrix code with a light source and picking up luminescent radiation with an optoelectronic device. Data on spatial configuration of the matrix code, the spectral band, intensity and duration of luminescent glow are recorded and then sent to the decoder.
EFFECT: high reliability and high volume of encoded data.
