METHOD TO STORE PLANTING POTATOES AND ARRANGEMENT OF POTATO STORAGE HOPPER Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A01F25/00

Abstract RU 2437273 C2

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of agriculture. The method includes treatment of tubers with ozone and air mixture. A potato storage of a hopper type is used with an individual system of exhaust ventilation for each hopper by an air flow moving in upward-to-downward direction. During the treatment period of storage, at the first stage, potato tubers are fumigated and mummified by flashless sublimation of acerouse leaves as 240 grams of acerouse leaves per 1 t of goods during 1 day, and airing is carried out for 1 day. Then ozone preservative treatment is carried out for bulk potatoes by supplying an air mixture with ozone concentration of 0.7±0.1 mg/m3 for 20 days to heat mechanical injuries for 3-5 days, strengthen peel and periderm and to suppress appropriate pathogens from the field. Repeated fumigation is carried out for 1 day, and airing - for 1 day, for guaranteed mummification of rots and suppression of remaining barn insects. Bulk potatoes are exposed to ozone preservative treatment with an air mixture having ozone concentration of 0.3±0.1 mg/m3 for 7 days for soft antiseptic exposure and neutralisation of substances from smoke and acerouse leaves that settled on potato tubers. After the treatment period, the main storage period is carried out. The device comprises a fan and air ducts. Hoppers are made of aerodynamically strong and dense shield partitions and floorings: a bottom, sides, detachable openings and floorings that eliminate losses of upward-to-downward air flows in the exhaust ventilation of the whole potatoes bulk and withstand load from stored goods. At the same time each hopper has a detachable opening and a flooring for convenience of potatoes loading and unloading. Hoppers are equipped with exhaust nozzles for even ventilation of the whole potato bulk. At the same time each hopper is equipped with an independent system of exhaust ventilation and a fan-vacuum cleaner assembly to return clean air without dust and spores.

EFFECT: inventions make it possible to eliminate process of pathogens circulation from potato bulk into storage space and from storage into bulk potatoes and to increase crop capacity of saleable potatoes with good keeping capacity.
