FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) wastes to obtain dispersion powder for anticorrosion, heat-resistant and chemical-resistant coatings. The method involves thermal decomposition, sublimation of the decomposition products and condensation. PTFE is first mixed with ammonium bifluoride (NH4HF2) in weight ratio ranging from 99:1 to 2.3:1. The mixture is held at 560-590°C for 1-1.5 hours. While heating the mixture, the formed gas phase collected and condensed at 10-90°C.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain dispersion powder with high output and sufficient adhesion power.
