FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to material science and can be used for producing dispersion of low-molecular fluorocarbon materials when making chemical-resistant and anticorrosive coatings. Method of processing high-molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) involves pre-treatment of nanodiamond powder, preparation of a mixture of nanodiamond powder and PTFE, heating mixture to temperature that allows thermal decomposition of mixture, and collection of thermal decomposition products. Nanodiamond powder is pre-heated in air at 400-440 °C for 40-60 minutes until formation of oxygen-containing surface groups, characterised by absorption band in infrared spectra with maximum in range of wave numbers 1,760-1,850 cm-1. During preparation of mixture of powder of nanodiamonds and PTFE concentration of nanodiamonds of 15-25 wt% is used. Heating of mixture is carried out at 440-480 °C.

EFFECT: obtaining powdered low-molecular fluorocarbon material with output of more than 60 % at low heating temperatures without formation of toxic gases HF and NH3.
