FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: prediction of a clinical outcome of an acute brain damage in neurological and neurosurgical patients is ensured by blood examination for a brain natriuretic peptide level on 1-3th day after the brain damage, and then every 2-12 days for 21 days. If observing the brain natriuretic peptide level exceeding 700 pg/ml, and/or the absence of decrease to norm in dynamics, the unfavourable outcome of the disease that is deep disability or lethal outcome is predicted.
EFFECT: increasing prediction accuracy of the clinical outcome of the acute brain damage.
