SUBSTANCE: invention refers to traumatic surgery and orthopedics for evaluation of thigh quadriceps muscle condition for selection of reconstructive operation type in treatment of chronic injuries of knee extensor organs. Muscle layer height change along anterior surface of injured leg thigh is measured in percentage of the muscle tissues of the same area of healthy leg. Movement amplitude of injured knee joint is determined, and if muscle layer height is reduced by 20% or more and knee movement amplitude in under 90° then expressed retraction of thigh quadriceps muscle is diagnosed, and reconstructive operation with mobilisation of lateral heads of thigh quadriceps is recommended.
EFFECT: possible planning of surgical treatment at pre-operation stage.
