FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology, and more specifically to eye microsurgery and aims at carrying out preclinical prediction of choroidal detachment following non-perforating glaucoma surgeries. Early postoperative intraocular pressure (IOP) is measured; optical coherent tomography (OCT) is used to measure an anterior chamber depth; B-scanning enables measuring a choroidal thickness in a posterior pole of an eyeball; also the OCT method is used to measure a suprachoroidal space height, while a ciliary body thickness is measured by ultrasonic biomicroscopy both in an operation area, and in a paired intact eye. If observing simultaneously the postoperative IOP value making 6 to 7 mm Hg for 3 days, and the anterior chamber depth a day after the surgery making 2.25-2.75 mm, the choroidal thickness on the 3rd postoperative day falls within the range 1.47 to 1.85 mm, the suprachoroidal space height on the 3rd postoperative day ranges within 0.14 to 0.42 mm, while the ciliary body thickness of the operated eye related to that of the paired eye on the 3rd postoperative day being in the range 1.13 to 1.33, early preclinical choroidal detachment is predicted.

EFFECT: method allows extending the range of common products and methods for prediction.
