FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: method to fix openings includes installation of composite crossbars in opening sides and their connection by means of yokes, laying a tie above crossbars and soft shells under the crossbars and supply of compressed air into them, lifting and spacing crossbar ends with spacing of a tie between crossbars and bed roof, and after roof rocks lower under action of rock pressure, soft shells are unloaded and removed. Slots, where crossbars are inserted, are arranged in opening sides along its entire length at the contact of the bed with roof rocks. Soft shells are placed under crossbars, where compressed air is supplied, and crossbars and tie are lifted to contact with the bed roof, afterwards wooden spacers are installed under crossbars at two sides of a soft shell with height that is more than the height of a soft shell in a folded condition. Additional soft shells are inserted between crossbars into slots, where compressed air is supplied, and slots between walls are opened. After roof rocks lower under action of rock pressure to the content of the lower part of crossbars with wooden spacers, at first shells arranged between crossbars are unloaded and removed, then soft shells arranged under crossbars are extracted.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of roof rocks support.
