SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a cathode, an anode and an ion-exchange membrane, the membrane lying between the cathode and the anode and at least continuously covers the peripheral region; the electrolytic apparatus in the upper and lower peripheral regions has numerous inlet and outlet pipes connected with the cathode and/or anode compartment such that piston flow forms in the cathode and anode compartments which is ideally characterised by a laminar-flow profile.
EFFECT: suitable device for liquids with low concentration of ions with low power consumption in the given operating mode.
