SUBSTANCE: in addition to clinical examination simultaneously determined is activity of dopamin-beta-hydroxylase in blood plasma and genotype by Val 158/108 Met polymorphism of catechol-ortho-methyltranspherase gene. If dopamin-beta-hydroxylase activity is lower than 20 nmol/ml/min in combination with genotype A/A by Val 158/108 Met polymorphism of catechol-ortho-methyltranspherase gene, unfavourable course of alcoholism and development of psychotic and convulsive complications are predicted.
EFFECT: method of predicting severity of alcoholism course contributes to increase of accuracy and objectivity of prediction, including early stage of disease, extension of arsenal of prediction methods.
