METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF CLINICAL COURSE OF SCHIZOPHRENIA IN MEN WITH PAROXYSMAL ENDOGENOUS PSYCHOSES MANIFESTING AT AGE FROM 18 TO 25 YEARS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01N33/50

Abstract RU 2685549 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to psychiatry, and represents a method for prediction of clinical course of schizophrenia in men with paroxysmal endogenous psychoses manifesting at age from 18 to 25 years, method involves assessing the patient's functioning level in the period preceding the onset of the disease by the premorbidity functioning scale (PAS), characterized by that when evaluating premorbid functioning (PAS) in range of 0.23 to 0.5 points and higher, a biological material is selected in the patient, DNA is extracted from it, variants of polymorphic loci of 5-HTTLPR of the serotonin transporter gene, Val66Met of the neurotrophic cerebral factor gene (BDNF), T102C gene of serotonin receptor type 2A (5-HTR2A) and a combination of versions of genes predicting the course of schizophrenia, wherein if LL (5-HTTLPR), or Met (Val66Met), or CC (T102C) is present in the combination, an unfavorable clinical course is predicted, while a SValValT combination shows a favorable course of schizophrenia.

EFFECT: due to the quantitative assessment of the risk of the unfavorable course of the disease, the more accurate prediction of clinical course of schizophrenia in the early stages of men with the onset of endogenous psychoses manifesting at age of 18 to 25 years due to the use of information on the genetically determined characteristics of the patient.
