SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forestry and is intended to protect seeds of wood plants, which are in true dormancy, and may be used for their subsequent autumn sowing in a nursery or on a planting area, excluding preliminary stratification. Encapsulated sowing material includes a capsule with a water-soluble shell and a seed located inside the capsule, which consists of a mixture of a natural fibrous material - tow and raw clay in the ratio from 1:4 to 1:2, material thickness makes from 0.5 to 2 of equivalent seed diameter, and the final moisture of the finished product makes 10-20%.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase soil germinating capacity due to elimination of the possibility for animals to eat seeds and sprouts, and also successful overcoming of true dormancy; the protective capsule will also ensure moisture storage and its dosed release to a seed under drought conditions.
