FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plant production and can be used for pre-sowing treatment of seeds of various plants, especially small-seeded. The method comprises feeding a portion of plastic shell mixture into the shape-generating box, placement of seeds in it and their fixation in the portion of the mixture. Seed shell is shaped as a capsule in the form of tetrahedron or improper tetrahedron with dihedral angles which values are from 50 to 90° or which pair of opposed edges are, as maximum, mutually orthogonal. Along one edge of the capsule in a plane passing through the centre of gravity, to the depth of the centre of gravity location, the slit cut is made. In the cut the seeds are placed. To fix the seeds in the capsule, the edges are mechanically impacted, which are adjacent to the slit cut for its complete or partial closing. Then the capsule is pushed out of the shape-generating box.
EFFECT: invention enables to improve seed germination, to reduce the consumption of seeds per unit of crop area, to increase crop yield and manufacturability of mass production of encapsulated seeds.
