FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and can be used for objective estimation of tolerance by cornea of rigid or soft contact lenses and for selection of mode of their wearing. Computer keratotopography before and at various terms of contact lens wearing is carried out. Identification on cornea of zones of irregular astigmatism with local reduction of refractive keratotopographic indices of "blind" zones, where refractive indices are not determined, is used to judge about individual intolerance of lens or mode of its wearing. In this way conclusion about intolerance is made by increase of total corneal aberrations of higher orders or aberration coma, conclusion is made about individual intolerance of contact lens and selected mode of its wearing.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain objective information about tolerance by cornea of contact lens for selected mode and term of its continuous wearing.
