METHOD OF CORRECTION OF MYOPIA Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61N5/67 A61F9/08

Abstract RU 2645126 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For the correction of myopia, the parameters of the patient's eye refraction are studied, the design orthokeratological (OK) lens is selected, setting of the selected OK lens during sleep, removal after sleep, examination of the eye refraction to evaluate the results of lens usage, and cross-linking; after the formation of a complete and stable effect, transepithelial cross-linking is performed. To do this, in the morning, immediately after removing the lens, saturate the cornea with a 0.25 % solution of riboflavin in the form of a solution of 1 drop per minute for 30 minutes, after which the cornea is exposed to UV radiation with a wavelength of 365 nm, an intensity of 3.0 mW/cm2, with a radiation energy of 5.4 kJ/cm2, with a total exposure time of 30 minutes. Diameter of the impact zone is about 8 mm.

EFFECT: method excludes traumatization of the cornea of the eye, reduces the time of use of OK lenses, as a result, prolongs their life, and also eliminates the wearing of soft lenses and minimizes the development of infectious complications in the postoperative period.
