FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: in the method, the analysed object is magnetised in order to obtain a symmetric magnetic field relative the geometry of the cross-section profile of the object, with formation of magnetic poles on the selected axis of symmetry of the cross-section profile of the object. Magnetic induction values are measured at paired symmetric points of the cross-section profile selected for analysis at the boundaries of the observation object and said values are sent to a comparison device or processed manually. The presence and nature of the state of tension in cross-section zones is determined from the compared induction values at said points. Comparison of said values with reference values enable to make judgment on the danger of exceeding permissible tension and build up of fatigue processes in material of the observation object.

EFFECT: rapid detection and evaluation of local tension in materials of structures using stationary and mobile equipment.
