SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of non-destructive testing in industry and transport. Method of magnetic control extended products with a symmetrical cross-section made of a homogeneous ferromagnetic material, contains the steps of carrying out magnetization of the product in controlled area by passing a non-sinusoidal current along the product length, in addition, for each cross section at characteristic points pairwise symmetrical about the axis(es) of symmetry of the geometric figure of the cross section at the borders of the cross section of the product, the external magnetic field and electrical voltage are measured and decomposed into a Fourier series, according to the analysis results, cross-sections with defects, structural changes and bending stresses are determined and evaluated.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the process of magnetic control.
