FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: wire with an optical communication cable comprises a central tube with optical fibres, a hydrophobic filler, made of a heat-shielding and high-strength composite material (coal plastic) with diameter d1, the first layer of seven wires with diameter d2, the second layer with alternation of seven steel wires with diameter d3 and seven steel wires with diameter d4 and the third layer of fourteen steel wires with diameter d5, at the same time the first, second and third layers are made with identical twisting pitch, in one direction and with linear contact of the wires in the first, second and third layers, are plastically deformed, the extent of clamping in the wire section area is 2-4%, increased area of contact between wires of the third layer, and also between wires of the second and first layers, and the wire is in general sealed.

EFFECT: invention increases resistance of the wire to lightning stroke, vibration, galloping, to exposure of short-circuit currents, rupture force after tests for short-circuit currents, with preservation of optical communication cable operability for a long period of operation within a power transmission line.
