FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: lightning protection cable comprises a high-strength galvanized steel wire with a tensile strength not less than 1670 N/mm2, with nominal diameters of 0.85÷4.60 mm, and circular plastic deformation of cable with reduction of cross-section area of article to 5.0÷14 %. Providing high resistance of lightning protection cable to successive effects of lightning strikes with charge of up to 150 C, eolian vibration and dancing is achieved by increasing their structural density and reducing contact stresses. In the lightning protection cable there used are various designs of the cable, both with the contact in plane of the wires in the layers, and between the adjacent layers, as well as the technology of making the lightning protection cable, which differs from the technology of making the cable with point contact of wires in the cable.
EFFECT: invention provides a lightning protection cable (versions) in a different design, resistant to the effect of lightning current with a portable charge of up to 150 C, where no break occurs, and disengagement of separate wires relative to each other, in compliance with all technical requirements affecting reliability of overhead transmission line.
