FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method of steel-wire rope manufacturing consists in consistent imposition of steel wire turns over the steel core and plastic deformation of the article; the core and wires at rated diameters within the range of 0.90÷4.60 mm are coated with zinc, copper or aluminium with thickness of 0.04÷0.32 mm. Plastic deformation of the article is performed with reduction rate of the article cross sectional area equal to 1.5÷9%.
EFFECT: using a new method of steel-wire rope manufacturing it is possible to increase essentially resistivity to lightning stroke, impact of corrosive media, wind and ice load of steel-wire ropes used as a protective earth wire in power transmission lines or as a suspension line with function of a protective earth wire for overhead railway system.
