SUBSTANCE: method involves controlling user equipment (UE) measurements to configure neighbour lists; requesting one or more measurements; the UE performing measurements in one or more neighbouring cells in response to one or more measurement requests; reporting the measurements; and identifying cells in the network to be included in the neighbour list based on the measurement reports, such that the UE measurements support network self-configuration and optimisation.
EFFECT: improved method which enables to limit to an acceptable level the negative impact of participation of user equipment in network self-configuration and optimisation on the characteristics of said user equipment.
