FIELD: communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mobile communication, particularly to a method of configuring a set of parameters of radio access network (RAN), including configuration of discontinuous reception (DRX) for user equipment in a wireless network system. Method includes a step of determining characteristics of traffic associated with user equipment, based on the number and types of running applications. Method further includes steps of: modifying and updating the DRX configuration and parameters of the RAN for different situations wireless transmission and reception.
EFFECT: updated DRX configuration and parameters of the RAN for communication with user equipment is brought to efficient management of power consumption.
