FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention serves for evaluation of professional suitability of students, for control of operator cognitive functions in conditions of information load, as well as for early diagnostics of attention function disorders. The operator is given test tasks for performance of simple sensomotoric reaction, differing in the type of stimulus and the size of interstimulus interval. Then the ratio of dependence of average reaction time from interstimulus interval is calculated. The evaluation of attention characteristics is performed by the values of the resulting ratios entering the set ranges. EFFECT: increased reliability of attention level evaluation due to evaluation of involuntary attention activation during reaction only to acoustic stimuli, evaluation of balance of voluntary and involuntary attention in human during increase of time intervals between stimuli to 1-16 seconds that provides for estimation attention level in different functional states of operator from stressed to relaxed state.
