FIELD: ultrasonic inspection.
SUBSTANCE: transmitting transducer transmits ultrasonic wave pulses into the inspected product, the receiving transducer receives the wave which passed through the product, the wave transmission time is measured and the wave transmission speed is calculated. The said speed is used to inspect the structure of the material. The transmitting and the receiving transducers are positioned on one surface with a fixed distance between them; furthermore, a second receiving transducer is installed on the surface of the inspected product. The second transducers received the ultrasonic wave which passed through the product; the wave transmission time for the second receiving transducer is measured. The fixed distance between the transmitting transducer and the first receiving transducer, as well as the fixed distance between the transmitting transducer and the second receiving transducer should be equal, and the wave transmission speed is measured on the basis of wave transmission time for both first and second acoustic channels.
EFFECT: increased sphere of application; improved reliability and accuracy of the material structure inspection for large-size objects.
