FIELD: hydrometeorology.
SUBSTANCE: two atmospheric circulation patterns are being monitored in the northern part of the Pacific ocean: cyclones over the ocean and the north-western pattern. The overall duration of each of the above atmospheric circulation patterns for not less than three years is calculated on a monthly basis. Taking into account the obtained data, the average monthly ice covering of the Sea of Okhotsk for January, February or March or May is calculated according to the forecast equation.
EFFECT: enhanced forecasting efficiency.
