FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of graphite intercalated chemically by strong acids and may be used in production of thermally expanded graphite, sealing, thermal and fire protection materials. Graphite pulp in concentrated sulfuric acid prepared in mixer 1 is fed via loading hole 2 into top section of pulsation column 1. Compressed carrier gas is fed from compressor 5 into top section of pulsation chamber 4. Oxidiser gas is fed in countercurrent from bottom union to be mixed with carrier gas in mixing chamber 6. Suspension subjected to pulse action of the mix of carrier gas with oxidising gas passes plate packing 7. Pulp with produced intercalated graphite compounds is discharged via drain union 8 of pulsation column 1. Used solution if discharged by gravity from top section of column 1 via drain hole 9. Hydrolysis of said intercalated compounds is carried out to produce intercalated graphite. The latter is dried.
EFFECT: decreased interval of synthesis and consumption of reagents.
