FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 2- and 4-(1,3,5-dithiazinan-5-yl)-phenols of general formula (1), which involves reaction of o- or n-aminophenol with N-methyl-1,3,5-dithiazinane in the presence of a samarium nitrate crystalline hydrate catalyst [Sm(NO3)2*6H2O], taken in molar ratio o-, or n-aminophenol: N-methyl-1,3,5-dithiazinane: Sm(NO3)2*6H2O = 10:(10-12):(0.3-0.7), in an atmosphere of argon in a medium of EtOH-CHCl3 as a solvent at temperature 50-70°C and atmospheric pressure for 2.5-3.5 hours.
EFFECT: method which enables to obtain a compound with high selectivity and low toxicity of the process.
