FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: gas collecting and removing device includes gas collecting bell suspended along the perimetre of anode jacket and connected to gas ducts of centralised gas removal system. At least two connection pipes connected via pipelines to each other and to gas ducts of centralised gas removal system are installed on longitudinal sides of gas collecting bell diagonally and asymmetrically. One of the connection pipes is located in corner part of gas collecting bell. Connection pipes are made so that area of outlet hole of a connection pipe in relation to inlet hole is decreased. Air supply holes are made in the zone of gas collecting bell, which is adjacent to installation places of connection pipes, in the installation zone of system of spring-hydraulic shock absorber and on its end surfaces. Ratio of area of outlet hole of connection pipe to inlet hole is 20÷25.

EFFECT: reduction of emissions of anode gases to the housing; excluding the blocking of gas channels of gas removal system at afterburning of anode gases in the space below the bell.
