FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a gas collector for catching and thermal deactivation of anode gases from aluminium electrolysis units with self-baking anodes (versions). The gas collector of the aluminium electrolysis unit includes angular sections located on diagonally opposite corners of the anode casing, or straight sections located in the middle of longitudinal sides of the anode casing, or angular and straight sections that are located on diagonally opposite corners and in the middle of the longitudinal sides of the anode casing. Each angular or straight section of the gas collector includes an angular or straight gapless afterburner and two straight combustion chambers with through slots.
EFFECT: improving efficiency of thermal deactivation of anode gases at the simultaneous reduction of labour input of maintenance and metal consumption.
