SUBSTANCE: declared invention refers to chemical-pharmaceutical industry and concerns an insert for treating a disorder selected from a group consisting of bacterial vaginosis, inflammatory pelvic disease, endometritis, postoperative infection following a gynecologic surgery, preterm delivery, preterm birth, urinary tract infection, recurrent urinary tract infection, upper genital tract infection, postpartum endometritis, post-hysterectomy infection, infection after miscarriage, infection after abortion, or for ensuring a greater number of successful therapeutic efforts for the purpose of artificial insemination, or for the purpose of prevention before a vaginal gynecologic surgery, which involves a non-degradable hydrogel matrix and clindamycin hydrochloride in contact with the matrix wherein the insert is suitable for intravaginal, buccal, or intrarectal use in mammals. Also, there are presented methods for using and making the insert.
