FIELD: fire-prevention facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of forest management and may find application in fire-fighting at peat deposits. The method to prevent and confine fire on peatbogs includes peat washing out with supplied pulp and simultaneous filling of the washed crater with mineral soil and carry-over of the washed out mass with the reverse flow, at the same time pulp supplied to the section is condensed, divided into clarified and condensed flows, using the clarified flow, trenches are washed preferably along relief elevations, and they are filled with mineral soil with coarse and medium fractions of condensed pulp, and the mixture of washed peat with fine fractions of the clarified pulp is poured over the trench edges to adjacent peat areas.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to develop efficient vertical curtain from non-combustible mineral soil, preventing propagation of most possible fire source, and to cover adjacent areas with a layer of mineralised peat that reduces possibility of its self-ignition.
