FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting head comprises body and cutters with straight cutting edges with their axes parallel with that of cutting head and equidistance thereof. To allow high kinematic precision of gear, said hollow body has inner toothed rim and accommodates planetary differential gear with two degrees of freedom that includes central outer external toothing gear wheel aligned with hollow body inner toothing rim planet pinions with cutters secured thereon being arranged there between. Axes of cutters are aligned to hose of pippins rotation. Note here that relation between angular body and said central gear wheel satisfies cited conditions. Proposed method comprises rolling motion of cutting head cutters along pitch lie of spur gear wheel to cut tooth spaces by cutting head cutters revolving about its axis and further pitch motion to cut the next tooth space. Note here that straight cutting edges of cutting head are located in the plane of spur gear wheel rotation to roll cutters along spur gear wheel pitch line.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
