FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and aims at perfecting electrical rolling stock traction DC motor drives. Proposed drive comprises traction DC motors with interconnected armature and excitation windings connected to "zero"-diode static exciter in serial electrical circuit, current limiting resistor shunted by fast-operation contactor and having one output terminal connected to circuit common point between armature windings negative output terminal and positive input terminal of excitation windings and the other end connected to feed diode cathode and first output terminal of connector connected in circuit of traction motor field attenuation. Motor field attenuation contactor second output terminal is connected via field attenuation resistor to common point of braking switch contact connection and inductive shunt. The latter is connected between common point of braking switch contact connection and field attenuation resistor on one side and, on the other side, it is connected with ground.
EFFECT: stable operation, higher anti-slippage properties and better protection against emergent conditions, higher efficiency.
