FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: motor output shaft is engaged via coupling box with reduction gearbox output shaft. Moment of inertia is defined as a ratio of the product of angular acceleration difference of revolving mass system "motor, coupling box" and angular acceleration of revolving mass system "motor, coupling box, reduction gearbox" by sum of moment of inertia of motor and that of coupling box, to angular acceleration of revolving mass system "motor, coupling box, reduction gearbox".
EFFECT: determination of moment of inertia with due allowance for friction in shaft bearings, toothing and wear.
