FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: outlet shaft of an electric motor is connected to an inlet shaft of a belt (chain) gear through a connecting coupling. Inertia moment of the belt (chain) gear is determined as a ratio of a product of difference of angular acceleration of an "electric motor, connecting coupling" rotating mass system and angular acceleration of an "electric motor, connecting coupling, belt (chain) gear" rotating mass system by a sum of inertia moment of the electric motor and inertia moment of the connecting coupling to angular acceleration of the "electric motor, connecting coupling, belt (chain) gear" rotating mass system.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of determining an inertia moment of belt and chain gears considering action of friction forces in supports of shafts, wear of the main elements moving progressively and rotationally.
