FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foundry. Prior to crystallisation, molten metal is forced through refractory tubes with their cross section selected from relation 1…4S where S if tube cross section area sufficient for metal gravity outflow. Tube length is set to allow laminar flow of processed melt.
EFFECT: directed pre-crystallisation flow of metal melt causes formation of ingot internal structure that adds to hardness and reduces metal abradability.
