FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: piezoelectric transducer has a metal housing, having a cylindrical cavity with a closing wall at one end and an open wall at the opposite end, in which the following are placed successively from the closing wall and coaxially with the cavity: a protector, a piezoelectric element, a damper, an elastic ring having a diameter which is a little less than the that of the inner cavity, and a nipple with a hole, as well as conductors which connect the electrodes of the piezoelectric element with the signal cable or socket. The closing wall is in form of a membrane, where the membrane can be integral with the housing or is connected with the housing on a welding contour, and the piezoelectric element is connected to the membrane through the protector, whose thickness is equal to 1/4 of the ultrasonic wavelength in the protector, using an adhesive and/or is pressed to the membrane by the elastic ring, and the thickness of the membrane h, depending on the density of the material, is determined from the relationship: h=A/ρ, where A is a coefficient equal to 0.4-4 kg/m2, ρ is density of the material of the membrane, kg/m3.
EFFECT: high sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio of the received signal while maintaining air-tightness of the transducer and operating capacity thereof at high excess pressure.
