FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to instrument making, particularly to piezoelectric converters. Piezoelectric converter comprises a metal body with a cylindrical cavity where the following units are arranged, coaxially to the cavity and in series starting from the closing wall: a protector, a piezoelectric element, a support ring and a nipple with a hole, as well as conductors which connect the electrodes of the piezoelectric element with a signal cable or socket. Closing wall is made in the form of a membrane, which can make a single unit with the body or be connected to it along the outline of welding, and the piezoelectric element is connected to the membrane through the protector made from a material with low acoustic impedance. Optimum thickness of the piezoelectric element and the prorector are selected by modelling the device using the method of fine elements. Between the main body and the nipple one, two or more graded transition sections are arranged, each of those is a combination of coaxial pipe lengths of small and large diameters, connected to each other by flat membranes, and separate sections can be make a single unit with the base or be connected to the base and to each other by welding or glueing.
EFFECT: technical result: increase in efficiency by increasing the sensitivity and the signal/noise ratio of an output signal.
