FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: said cross coupling comprises two half-couplings and idle floating element to transmit rotation furnished with mutually perpendicular grooves to mate with half-coupling ledges. Flutes directed along coupling lengthwise axis are made on half-coupling ledge lateral surfaces. Idle floating element is made up of a spider. Spider groove sidewalls are provided with radial flutes. Balls are fitted in aforesaid flutes of half-coupling and spider in assembly, at the points of their intersection. Flute surfaces mate with those of sai balls.

EFFECT: reduced loads on jointed shafts, longer life.
