FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: cross coupling comprises two half-couplings with slots and an intermediate floating element to transfer rotation with mutually perpendicular ledges that are responsive to slots of half-couplings. On side surfaces of half-coupling slots there are grooves directed along the longitudinal axis of the coupling. The intermediate floating element is arranged in the form of a crosspiece. On the side surfaces of the ledges crosspieces are arranged in the radial direction of a groove. Balls are installed into appropriate grooves of half-couplings and the crosspiece during assembly in areas of their crossing. Surfaces of grooves are coupled with surfaces of balls.
EFFECT: reduced loads to joined shafts and higher operational resource of a cross coupling.
