FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: double-spider coupling comprises two half-couplings with ledges and intermediate floating parallelepiped-shape insert. Grooves directed along half-coupling lengthwise axis are made on ledge inner surfaces. Insert outer surfaces have grooves arranged in plane perpendicular to coupling lengthwise axis. Balls are fitted in appropriate grooves of half-coupling and insert at their intersection. Surfaces of said grooves are conjugated with those of balls.
EFFECT: reduced load at coupled shafts, longer life.
