SUBSTANCE: in the method, input code group (CG) streams distributed on blocks (B) and block groups (BG) augment each B with service CG and each BG with a pair of defect-protective blocks (DPB). A BG stream is recorded on a carrier and then verified by reading immediately after recording. The given number of preceding records of the initial BG is established upon detection of a defective read BG for each of its odd/even defective B. Values of the attribute and address codes of the defective BG and its odd/even defective B are generated and arranged in service CG of odd/even B of the established BG and values of the odd/even DPB of each of the established BG are re-determined based on the initial value of the corresponding defective B.
EFFECT: continuity of recording, playback of CG streams onto or from a carrier with effective protection from primary, secondary and tertiary defects.
