FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for protection of digital information flows against defects. Before recording onto a medium, the input flow of data is distributed among the blocks (B) and block groups (BG) with application of intra-block noise-immune data coding, defect-protection coding and addition of service codes to BG. The generated BG are recorded to the medium and reproduced immediately after recording. Further the delayed initial and counted BG are compared, and defective BG and defective B are detected. Further additional defect-protective coding of marked groups of delayed initial BG is carried out with account of values of appropriate defective B in the defective BG.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of protection of digital information flows against all and any size of primary defects of a medium and its all secondary and tertiary defects up to specified maximum size both separately and in their different combinations, increased reliability of recording and storage of information, extension of storage time of recorded information without loss of quality and accuracy of its reproduction and service life of media.
