FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: fluorescent lamp includes a glass tube containing a luminophore deposited on its inner surface and filled with an inert gas and metal vapour mixture, both ends of which are sealed, hollow cylindrical electrodes at both ends of the glass tube, wherein each hollow cylindrical electrode has a stepped portion between its central part and its end part and is made of a glass-ceramic composite. The electrode material is a composite with the ceramic composition CaO-MgO-SrO-ZrO2-TiO2 and glass frit. CaO-MgO-SrO-ZrO2-TiO2 contains CaO in the range of 0<CaO<1 mol, MgO in the range of 0<MgO<1 mol, SrO in the range of 0<SrO<1 mol, ZrO2 in the range of 0<ZrO2<1 mol and TiO2 in the range of 0<TiO2<1 mol, in which CaO+MgO+SrO:ZrO2+TiO2 and has molar ratio 1:1, and additionally contains one or more substance selected from a group consisting of MnO, Al2O3, Cr2O3 and Fe2O3, in amount of 3 wt %.
EFFECT: higher brightness, possibility of controlling coefficient of thermal expansion and shorter electrode length inside the lamp.
