FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: command of nonperiodic power control can be sent over a downlink to control and/or correct an uplink power level employed by an access terminal. Command of nonperiodic power control can be started by measurement (e.g. received power out of preset allowable margin). Command of nonperiodic power control can include single-bit or multiple- bit correction. Additionally, access terminal can change power level of communication uplink used for next transmissions via communication uplink based on command of nonperiodic power control, when it has been received. Furthermore, independently of whether the command of nonperiodic power control has been received or not currently via communication downlink access terminal can use commands of periodic power control and open loop power control mechanism in order to adjust power level of communication uplink.

EFFECT: simplification of closed loop nonperiodic power control corrections utilisation in wireless communications environment based on long-term development standard.
