FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical-recovery industry. A coke furnace 1 of horizontal design without recovery or with recovery of heat comprises at least one coking chamber 5, vertical channels 11 of decurrent flow arranged at the sides, bottom gas flues 8, arranged horizontally and passing at the bottom of the coking chamber 5 for indirect heating. At least a part of inner walls 3 of the coking chamber 5 is made as secondary heating surfaces by application of a high-emission blanket (HEB) on them, the extent of emission of which is more than or equal to 0.9, consisting of Cr2O3 or Fe2O3, or from a mixture containing at least 25 wt % Fe2O3, and at least 20 wt % Cr2O3. Tertiary heating elements 12 are arranged in free space of the furnace 1, which is not designed for filling with coal 7, and contain substances that form HEB. Elements 12 may be made, for instance, in the form of suspension ribs or walls with holes and suspended on holders 13, mounted into a wall 3 and/or top 2 of the furnace 1. Coal 7 carbonisation in the furnace 1 is carried out at the average temperature of 1000 - 1400 °C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce time of carbonisation due to improved conditions of emission in the chamber 5 of the furnace 1.
