FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: powder of water-soluble chemical compound with decomposition temperature lower than that of volatile organometallic compound is loaded into reactor and blown by inert gas. The reactor is heated to temperature of volatile organometallic compound decomposition. Volatile organometallic compound is fed in the form of vapor by inert carrier gas to mix said powder and form metal film on powder heated particles via thermal decomposition of volatile organometallic compound. Then, reactor is cooled down, powder particles are minced, minced powder particles are dissolved in water and metal precipitate is separated from water by decanting. Polydisperse metal films in the form of metal micro plates with thickness of ≤ 10 mcm repeating sizes and shape of minced powder particles.
EFFECT: polydisperse films of required thickness.
