FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nanotechnology and metallocarbon nanostructures, specifically to metallocarbon nanocoatings resistant to oxidation and corrosion. The method of making metallocarbon nanocoatings involves preparation of a reaction mixture containing gaseous carbon-containing substance selected from a group comprising carbon suboxide C3O2, carbon tetrachloride CCl4, tetrachloroethylene C2Cl4, organometallic substance selected from a group comprising iron carbonyl Fe(CO)5, molybdenum carbonyl Mo(CO)6, chrome carbonyl Cr(CO)6, and an inert gas diluent - argon, exposure of the said mixture to UV radiation in single pulse or frequency mode with energy of 100 mJ at room temperature to form a coating of a metal film, metal nanoparticles and coated with a layer of carbon material on a substrate made from monocrystalline silicon upon decomposition of the reaction mixture.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain a metallocarbon coating which is resistant to oxidation and corrosion.
